 Pamporovo is a modern ski resort which is set in the heart of the beautiful pine-forested Rhodope mountains, 85 km south of the city Plovdiv and near the Greek border. It is the most southern skiing resort in Europe and therefore the sunniest one with wonderful snow throughout the whole season. Pamporovo is situated 1650 m above the sea level at the foot of peak Snejanka (1926 m).
The ski area in Pamporovo is not as large as the one in Bansko, with the slopes ideal for beginners and intermediates. All major ski pistes start from the peak of the mountain, where the TV tower is located. The most difficult ski piste is "The Wall". Lovers of biathlon and cross-country skiing will also enjoy Pamporovo. In the resort is situated one of the best ski-schools in Europe. It is known internationally for its experienced instructors who teach the beginners in groups or individually from 2 to 4 hours daily. The duration of the different skiing classes is between 3 and 12 days and all course graduates get a certificate. For families with children the ski-kindergarten works.
 Pamporovo is dominated by a group of large hotels and new apartment complexes. The resort is lively during the winter season, from mid-December to mid-April, as well as in summer, when the cool climate and picturesque mountain scenery make it a popular base for walking, mountain biking and family picnics. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, and a small shopping centre. Pamporovo has a lot to offer for the skiers and snowboarders who love to party and have a good time after the enjoying days on the slopes. In general, there are many places that worth visiting, and there are no places that look similar. Every bar, pub or disco has its unique style and atmosphere. The local people have developed a good selection of places to go. The staff in most places is professional, very helpful, friendly and speaks English plus some other popular languages.
